There’s No Such Thing As Too Late
I heard this song over the weekend and it's been on my heart since, then I literally woke up singing “With YOU, there’s no such thing as too late.” I immediately thanked God and felt encouraged because sometimes life will have you feeling like you’re behind in every way. We have all created some type of timeline in our lives for which we desire to accomplish certain things in our life.
I remember as a child 2 of my biggest goals were getting married and having a family, next in line was becoming an OB to deliver babies. As I got older, I created a specific timeline for which I wanted each of these things to happen. I knew that I would get married young, okay cool got married at 21, check! Okay, I wanted children by 30…. Here we are. I just turned 30, but my children aren't here yet. There was a point where I literally watched my “biological clock” and MY TIMELINE. Let me say that again, I watched MY TIMELINE. Not the timeline that God has for me, not plans that God has for me, but my timeline and that’s the problem. One of the things that I had to do when I turned 30 back in May was surrender my timeline, my original plan for my life back to God. First of all, when you have your own timeline, you will drive yourself crazy if and when you see that things aren’t panning out exactly how you planned. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with partnering with God and having goals for yourself. The problem comes when we begin to idolize that timeline and feel like we need things to happen at a specific time and if they don’t then our whole world feels shattered or we feel like we’ve failed because we didn’t get it accomplished. We don’t take into account that there are some things, MOST THINGS, that are just out of our control, but GOD IS IN CONTROL.
God is in control and His plans are greater than our plans. And when we surrender to Him, I mean truly surrender our plans, our timelines, surrender the idea of a “biological clock” etc. God can then truly show Himself mighty and strong in our situation. Know this, trust in God, trust in God’s plan, also means trust in HIS TIMING. With God, there truly is NO SUCH THING AS TOO LATE! We serve a God who does not abide by our time, He works on kairos, which is the APPOINTED TIME.
There is an APPOINTED TIME for your marriage, there is an APPOINTED TIME for your babies, there is an APPOINTED TIME for your business, there is an APPOINTED TIME for your career to take off, there is an APPOINTED TIME for your ministry to be birthed. there is an APPOINTED TIME! And no matter how long ago God promised it to you, you have got to stand on His promises and know that He is not a man that He should lie. It won't always be like this always. As you are in this waiting period, continue thanking God for what’s to come and continue to prepare for the very things that you are believing in Him for.
I pray that you are encouraged as I am. I pray that in spite of what you see or don’t see, you hold on to the promises that God has given you, both in His Word and your personal promises! You're not too young nor too old. You're not too soon, nor are you too late. You'll be right on time for what God has for you because we serve an on time God! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Can I challenge you today to surrender that timeline that you have. Let us meditate on this scripture together today. And remember, what is time to God??? With God, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO LATE!
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 KJV
“Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 AMP
“So, dear friends, don’t let this one thing escape your notice: a single day counts like a thousand years to the Lord Yahweh, and a thousand years counts as one day. This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his “delay” simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 TPT

This was just what I needed to read. It was encouraging and a great reminder of God's authority above it all. Thank you for your vulnerability.
